About:

Circular saws use a round blade that is lined with sharp metal teeth. The blade rotates to cut the wood smoothly. Circular saws also have a handle with a trigger switch, a nut to hold the blade in place, and a guard for safety purposes.

This Unit:

Featuring a powerful 15 Amp, high output motor, Bosch's CS10 7-1/4 In. circular saw offers fast, smooth cutting at a variety of different angles. A durable magnesium footplate means increased stability and precision accuracy. Weighing in at just 10.3 Lbs., the Bosch CS10 is easy to handle and comfortable to use. An unobstructed view of the cut line means better visibility for more exact cuts. With a soft grip handle for added comfort, and a blower for better dust control, this is one user-friendly tool. The CS10 also features a 56-degree bevel capacity, along with positive detents at 22.5 degrees and 45 degrees for working on a wide variety of projects.

Operation:

Measure and mark the cut line.

Clamp the material firmly to a workstation.

Attach the appropriate blade to the saw. Set the blade depth 1/4-inch below the material you are cutting.

Confirm the bevel angle.

Plug the saw’s cord into a power source or attach its battery.

Rest the saw shoe on the edge of the material and near the cutting line.

Lift the blade guard. With the blade next to but not touching the workpiece, press the lock switch and pull the trigger to get the saw to full speed. Keep the shoe firmly on the surface and ease the saw forward to the cutting line while keeping the trigger engaged.

Guide the saw along the scrap side of the cutting line, keeping the shoe flat. Let the saw do its work. Pushing with too much force can strain the motor.

Release the trigger to stop the blade when the cut is complete, then lift the saw and place it on the workbench.

Safety:

Wear safety glasses or goggles, or a face shield (with safety glasses or goggles).

Wear an approved respirator or dust mask when exposed to harmful or nuisance dusts.

Use appropriate hearing protection equipment in noisy areas.

Be very cautious of stock which is pitchy, knotty or warped.
