About:

The detail sander is a triangular or pointed orbital sander designed to get into fine edges and around tight corners. Great for furniture or any job with hard to reach places.

Add luster to a metal surface. The use of a sander can make dark-colored metals rejuvenate and shine. Be careful not to use too rough sandpaper to avoid leaving scratches on the metal surface.

Avoid debris on wood If there are fragments on a wood handle, splinters will cause pain in the palm. Polishing it with a mouse sander will make the surface of the wood smooth, which is more convenient to use.

Remove varnish from old furniture. Over time, the varnish on wooden furniture will leave marks and discoloration. Using a sander can help you remove the old varnish and clean up the debris on the surface so that you can repaint and give the furniture a new look.

Operation:

The quality of the sanding result depends on various factors. It’s important to replace worn sanding sheets in good time, for instance. And we’d never recommend using the same sanding sheet for wood and metal. You should also take the grain size of the sanding sheet into account.

Switch on the detail sander before the sanding base comes into contact with the workpiece. Guide the tool along the work surface parallel to it, rather than at an angle, to avoid making unsightly sanding marks. This also ensures that you distribute the

Most detail sanders come with a rotating foot. Position the base with the tip facing forward when sanding corners and edges. If you need to make a continuous sanding movement over a flat surface, it’s more convenient to work with the flat side of the base facing forward. Tip: if the tip of the foam rubber layer of the revolving foot is worn or damaged, you can extend its life by up to two times by turning the foot 120°. That same goes for the sanding sheet.

It’s also important not to apply too much pressure when sanding. If you push too hard on the sander the results will be less good, the sanding sheet will wear faster and you’ll tire yourself out unnecessarily.

Moreover, you can adjust the speed on some detail sanders. This really helps get good results on various materials. You can test the tool speed on a piece of waste material before you start to determine the right speed for your job.

Safety:

  • Always ensure that the tool is switched off or disconnected from the power supply before you attach the sandpaper, or fit or remove the dust canister.

  • Wear appropriate eye protection; a dust mask is also a good idea.

  • Keep loose clothing and jewelry away from moving parts.

  • Make sure the item you’re sanding is properly secured.

  • Check that the ventilation slots of the sander are clear of dust and debris before you begin.

  • Never attempt to sand lead-based paint as this can lead to lead poisoning.

  • Apply gentle pressure when using the sander; being heavy-handed can lead to mistakes.

  • Metal parts of the sander may become hot during use, so take care when handling.

  • Always unplug when not in use, and store your detail sander somewhere dry and frost-free.
