Wet / Dry Vacuum - 16Ga - 6.5HP (2001238) SHOP USE ONLY

About:

The best feature of shop vacs is their ability to clean up heavier debris, as well as liquid spills.  Shop vacuum cleaners can also pick up things like nails, wood chips, and so much more. You can count on them to be generally more powerful than a regular vacuum, too. Most traditional vacuum cleaners can electrocute you or break down if you use them on water or other liquids.

Operation:

Hoses on a wet dry shop vac combined with the suction power can suck up liquids and larger debris vertically by several inches. With such a powerful vacuum, you can pick up gallons of debris in no time. A filter can also be used for light debris collection in order to prevent it from spreading back into the air around the room. Even powerful, larger vacuums used for construction debris should have a dust filter in order to collect those tiny pieces of debris.

A shop vac is used much like a vacuum cleaner. The big difference is that it doesn’t have a bag to collect things, it has a bucket construction. Inside that bucket there is a filter arrangement for when the work to be done is dry pick-up. The deflector inside, where the hose connected, should be pointed down.

When using the shop vac for wet pick-up, the filter needs to be removed and the deflector inside the bucket should be pointed up.

Many different mediums, wet or dry, can be vacuumed up with these units. Be careful never to overload the bucket and make sure the medium won’t harm the vac. Larger items can get stuck and caustic or hazardous liquids can ruin the tool or cause injury.

When switching from dry to wet or vice-versa, be sure to clean out the bucket thoroughly. Dry and empty.

Safety:

Always operate Wet/Dry Vac in a well-ventilated area free of flammable vapors, combustible dust, gasses or other combustible materials. Do not pick up any flammable materials such as gasoline or anything that is burning or smoking such as cigarettes, ashes, etc. Always unroll the Power Cord before operating. Consider using hearing protection…they can be quite loud depending on the vacuum.
